Christmas in Arabic

Yesterday, when we checked our bike in to a guarded parking lot here in Meknes, I tried to explain that Heidi and I still wanted to have dinner (it was late already), because after all it was Christmas eve. I tried to use the Arabic expression (no, I don't speak Arabic) "Eid milad", but since it is a generic term for "birthday" one of the guards asked me whether it was my birthday. No, I said, it's Jesus' birthday. Ah, oh yes....all grinning and laughing.
