We finished the Via de la Plata.
Having gone down south from Salamanca on the Via de la Plata (a former Roman road which is also one of the "Caminos de Santiago") we arrived in Sevilla on Saturday evening. We are very happy that Christine and Tobias (himself a very sportive cyclist) with their 4 marvelous children are hosting us in their house just outside Sevilla. We enjoy their open and friendly company and generous hospitality very much after a long stretch of only a few short but interesting contacts. The "Via" is definitely less popular than the "Camino Frances" which we followed from Bayonne to just West of Burgos, and since winter was arriving with quite cold temperatures in the higher altitudes which we crossed on the way (Sierra de Bejar).
Yesterday Tobias took me (Andreas) on his preferred route into Sevilla, his son Elias took Heidi´s place on the stoker´s seat and enjoyed that nice ride among us three men as much as I did (for once no luggage!). Heidi and I had then a quick touristic visit to Sevilla´s centre. Today Heidi is taking care of her medication and we hope to head South to Tarifa (ferry to Tanger) tomorrow.
